Carl-Daniel Hailfinger

Carl-Daniel Hailfinger is currently completing his diploma in Bioinformatics at the University of Tübingen, Germany. At the age of 8, he started taking apart electronic devices -- writing his first programs at the age of 10 -- and has kept alive his interest in things electronic ever since.

Since 2002, he has been active in Linux kernel development, especially netfilter, infrastructure and drivers. In 2003 he performed reverse engineering of the binary only nForce network driver which served as basis for the forcedeth Linux driver.

From 2002-2005, he worked as a part-time security consultant and created a cross-platform trojan network mapping tool during that time. Since 2006, he has been active in the coreboot and flashrom projects and contributed to the OLPC XO firmware during that time. Today his focus is on security and correctness of firmware implementations.
